Midiboard collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. The app makes no network requests of any kind.
Your layouts — the screens you build, the widgets on them and their settings — are saved as an ordinary file inside the app's own folder on your iPhone. They are included in your device backup if you have one, and they are deleted with the app. Nothing about them is sent anywhere.
Midiboard uses Bluetooth to appear as a MIDI device to whatever you connect it to. That connection carries MIDI messages — the notes and controller values produced by touching the screen — and nothing else. It reaches only the device you paired with. Midiboard does not scan for, identify or record other Bluetooth devices around you.
The name you set is broadcast, because that is how the other machine finds it in a list. Pick something you are comfortable being visible to Bluetooth devices nearby.
If a future version ever needs to send anything anywhere — syncing layouts between devices would be the obvious candidate — it will be something you switch on, it will be described here first, and this page will say when it changed.
